The original "Killjoy" was released in 2000. It is well known in the terrible movie universe as one of the worst of all time. Of course, worst in the terrible movie universe means best. The original Killjoy is pure magic. Everything about it is wrong. Not a single thing works. There are attempts at jokes, visual humor, actual horror and even some drama. All of which fail, amazingly. I love this movie. I force whomever I hang out with to watch it.
Hey, maybe that explains why people think I'm crazy.

"Killjoy 2" was released in 2002 had a $30,000 budget. The original "Killjoy" had a $150,0000 budget. I don't get how that happened either. In order for them to consider making a sequel I would assume the first one had some success. So, either Full Moon blew all their money on another Evil Bong movie or they just wanted to make a really cheap movie and just hope people would buy it because it says Killjoy. Well, it worked on me and the movie sucks.
Everything that made the original "Killjoy" great, they screwed up. They replaced the actor who played Killjoy. Trent Haaga plays Killjoy in the sequel. He was nowhere near as amusing as Angel Vargas was in the first one (thank you IMDB for the actor names!). I feel like the filmakers knew it was going to suck and tried to overly suck to make it more enjoyable. That is not the correct way to do things. You have to try to be clever and fail. You cant just try to fail. C'mon now.
Grade: D (still worth one watch and one watch only)
"Killjoy 3" was released a full 8 years after "Killjoy 2" in 2010. Trent Haaga played Killjoy again, but this time he was awesome. In fact, this movie was awesome. This is the first one in the series that actually felt like a movie, the other 2 felt like a college project gone awry. In "Killjoy 3" we get some pretty decent special effects and most importantly, actors! Real actors, that can think and talk! Amazing!
We are also introduced to two new characters, Batty Boop and Punchy the Clown. Batty Boop is Killjoy's love interest, while Punchy is just a fat clown with massive boxing gloves on. The whole film is goofy and entertaining. There are a lot of genuine laughs, rather than laughing at how terrible it is. For a regular individual, this is clearly the best one in the series. However, I still love the terrible original the most. I really do hope that they make a 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th installment. Maybe even an 11th?
